Prisma: What cover did Lian choose?

Merry day after Christmas!

Since you are likely hanging out today in your stretchy pants, rubbing that food belly, it felt like the perfect day to tease you with a sneak peek of another beautiful cover set.

Lian Villanueva Lansing comes to our family as a young voice out of California. Her debut novel, Prisma, was picked up during a Twitter pitchfest for #OwnVoices and #DiverseBooks. We love Lian's optimism, attitude, and passion -which comes in handy when you say something like, "Hey, Lian. I know you spent considerable time writing this book and poured your heart into the pages...but what would you think about rewriting it from the perspective of a blog?"

Lian didn't bat an eyelash and got straight to work. The change in direction also helped with our cover design process. We made a small change on the name and with a different narration pattern, we were able to really hone in on the heart and soul of the novel.

We don't want to give too much away - we will save the teasers for the final cover reveal. Let's take a look:

From this proof set, what do you think Prisma is about? This is a very diverse cover set where each one portrays a different emotion and possibility. This was fun to create as we had hundreds of ideas that could work for a different narration style or for a different reader. The final selection of the cover, in this rare instance, set the future of the book in place as far as outreach, marketing, and audience.

The final design will be revealed on February 17th, 2017. If you would like to know a day in advance, or if you're interested in being a part of Lian's Launch Team on Facebook, simply click here to join in the fun!

Leave a comment for your favorite cover. We will give one person an autographed copy of the final book and select another winner at random to receive the entire 2017 catalogue in digital format. As a matter of fact, we will be giving away one digital catalogue on EVERY blog post we write during the start of the year! The more you comment, the better your chances.

Merry day after Christmas and happy food coma! Now, go snuggle up under a blanket and tuck in to a great book. If your Kindle is feeling lonely, you can pick up some of our favorite titles by Scott Thompson, Dori Ann Dupré, Mike Hansen, Ambriehl Khalil, and Ralph Pullins for only $1.99 until January 2nd.
